Harry Reid's waffling on filibuster reform last month has quickly showed results: Senate Republicans are now threatening a filibuster of former Republican Senator Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense. We have had "The Conscience of a Conservative" and "The Conscience of a Liberal"; no one has yet stepped forward to author "The Courage of a Democrat". Senator Reid seems to be out of the running for that role.
