Pondering the motivational power of Fear. Anecdotal evidence suggests that Fear mangles our thought processes, causing us to replace rational action with irrational reaction. Case in point: The political class in our country has quite effectively fostered a climate of Fear of the increasing National Debt, the consequences of which point to a dystopian future. (I can actually visualize Manhattan in "Escape from New York". ) I intend to examine this in some depth in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, I will sip some tequila and wait for the elections to come and go.
